The ICPEES is organized around several steering bodies:
The Management Committee:

3 members appointed by the Unit Director;
4 members elected by College A: researchers and research professors;
3 members elected by College B: permanent technical and administrative staff
2 elected members for college C: (such as doctoral students, young researchers, technical and administrative staff on fixed-term contracts).
It decides on matters relating to the operation and management of the unit, in particular :

dissemination of the Unit's scientific information;
human resources management;
training-through-research policy;
current and future training programs;
any measures relating to the organization and running of the Unit that are likely to have an impact on the situation and working conditions of staff.
It meets 5 or 6 times a year. Certain items discussed are put to the vote of the Board members.
The Scientific Council:
The Scientific Advisory Board is made up of the Management Committee, team leaders, department heads and a representative of the technical staff.
The role of the Scientific Advisory Board is to advise the DU on scientific choices relating to the future development, creation and deletion of the unit's strategic research themes and projects. The multi-disciplinary input of the members of the Scientific Advisory Board is essential in setting out the unit's strategic research directions, and enables the unit to gain strong recognition from national and international research institutions, as well as industrial partners.
The Scientific Advisory Board meets at least 5 times a year and is consulted on all matters relating to ICPEES' scientific policy and strategy. It is also systematically called upon to arbitrate on scientific matters when projects need to be ranked.
