Joint Research Laboratories

LabCom

LabCom (joint CNRS-company research laboratories) is a model for long-term collaboration between the CNRS (via one of its laboratories) and an industrial partner. As an integrated model of partnership research, LabCom is based on shared governance and a medium- to long-term scientific program. They operate on the basis of collaboration contracts that provide a framework for structuring projects with high scientific and industrial stakes between one or more research teams and a company.

ICPEES is a partner in three LabCom projects:

Mutaxio - SOPREMA

Launched in December 2017, the Mutaxio LabCom “Mutation focused on bio-sourced materials for sustainable building” aims to develop innovative materials derived from different biomasses and respectful of the environment, in order to make them high-performative for building by deepening the knowledge acquired on these sustainable systems.

Director: Luc Avérous (ICPEES)
Co-director: Remi Perrin (Soprema)

SpinLab - MICHELIN

Launched in June 2023, the LabCom SpinLab aims to set up an advanced electrospinning platform to study the physical and physico-chemical mechanisms enabling (i) the production of new multi-component nanofibrous functional materials with controlled 3D structuring, and (ii) the development of new environmentally-friendly production routes enabling pilot-scale production. The aim is to develop processes that will enable the production of innovative and differentiating materials, particularly for tire, energy and adhesive applications.

Director: Guy Schlatter (ICPEES)
Deputy Director: Benoît Lafitte (Michelin)

anaVOC - Société Airmotec AG/Chromatotec

Launched in June 2023 for a 4-year period, the LABCOM anaVOC - Development of continuous and real-time analytical methods for Volatile and Semi-volatile Organic Compounds - aims to develop analytical methods and instruments operating continuously and in real time, notably based on micro-fluidic devices, for the quantification of Volatile and Semi-volatile Organic Compounds in air (including the particulate phase) and even in water.

Co-director: Anaïs Becker (ICPEES)
Co-director: Damien Bazin (Chromatotec)
Scientific manager: Stéphane Le Calvé (ICPEES)
